Who can use the Food Bank? Anyone in need, who lives within the covered area. Each household can visit the Food Bank once every 30 days. Core food-support services will be provided to clients at no financial cost and without being implicitly/explicitly tied to other conditions (e.g., volunteer participation, donation requirements, engagement in faith-based activities, etc.) Covered Area: West to Deep Hollow Road; North to Church Street including Starr’s Point, Port Williams to Tiny Parrish Road on the west; East to the Gaspereau River at Avonport, then south to West Brooklyn; South includes Gaspereau, Melanson, White Rock and including the South Mountain area.
When is the Food Bank open? Twice a month. Usually on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 9am to 4pm. Important: If the 1st of the month falls between Tuesday and Thursday, the Food Bank is held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. Please leave your name and contact information, and one of our volunteers will contact you and give you a time slot to visit the Food Bank. New clients will be asked to complete an Application Form.
When should I call? Applicants seeking help from the Food Bank must call no later than Saturday prior to the food bank open day. Remember to call and register before you come.
What do I need to bring with me? Please bring your MSI health card and all other family members’ health cards too.
