WAFB-Card-front

The Wolfville Area Inter-Church Council has been working to address issues of hunger and poverty in Wolfville and the surrounding area since it was established in 1970. In 2007 WAICC opened the Wolfville Area Food Bank which operates out of the Wolfville Baptist Church. The Food Bank is run solely by volunteers, and operates successfully thanks to the support of local businesses, organizations and individuals who donate their time, money and food.

The Wolfville Area Food Bank aims to provide not only food, but other resources, to those in need. Some of the supplied food comes from Feed Nova Scotia, or from community donations; however, the majority of food is bought with funds donated to WAICC.

Core food-support services will be provided to clients at no financial cost and without being implicitly/explicitly tied to other conditions (e.g., volunteer participation, donation requirements, engagement in faith-based activities, etc.)
