Wolfville Area Inter-Church Council (WAICC)

WAICC was founded in 1970 by the churches in the area as a form of ecumenical Christian commitment to address perceived spiritual and social needs.

Member organizations include L’Arche HomefiresManning Memorial Chapel (Acadia University), Port Williams United Baptist ChurchReligious Society of Friends (Quakers)St Francis of Assisi Parish (St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Wolfville and St Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Canning), St John’s Anglican Church, WolfvilleOrchard Valley Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada, and Wolfville Baptist Church.

WAICC funds Open Arms to support housing outreach

The Wolfville Area Inter-Church Council (WAICC) has donated $45,360 to support the on-going work of the Open Arms Resource Centre’s mobile outreach team for one year. The donation has been made through the WAICC council’s new housing committee to support outreach within the WAICC boundaries in eastern Kings, which include Greenwich, Port Williams, Avonport, Gaspereau and the South Mountain.
