Christmas Events 2018

Here is a list of some local events for the Christmas Season:

Orchard Valley Pastoral Charge (United Church)

6:00 pm, Monday, December 24, Christmas Eve family worship led by Rev. Don Sellsted at Orchard Valley United Church, 130 Cornwallis Ave, New Minas

11:00 pm, Monday, December 24, Christmas Eve worship led by Rev. Tim McFarland at the Covenanter Church, 1989 Grand Pré Road, Grand Pré

 


 

Port Williams United Baptist Church will have two Services on December 24th. 
At 4:00 there will be a Family Service and at 7:00, the Christmas Eve Service.


 

Manning Memorial (Acadia) Chapel

Dec 30 8pm-9pm: Contemplative Concert

Take a few moments to breathe before the New Year with a *heart wide open* contemplative concert! This relaxing, restorative and revitalizing evening will feature the sounds of cello, voice, bells, singing bowls and more. With India Yeshe Gailey (Halifax/Montreal) and Heidi Kalyani (Wolfville).


 

Annapolis Valley Quaker Meeting:

Sunday Dec 23: Worship at 10:30 am at the home of Marilyn Manzer in Wolfville (902-542-0558), followed by potluck lunch.

Sunday Dec 30: Worship at the home of Maria in Greenwich. Call 902-697-2680 for directions. 

Meeting for Worship is open to the public. We gather in expectant silence to open to the will of God. We have no clergy. Ministry is offered as those present feel led to do so as the Spirit moves them.

 

Wolfville Baptist Church

Dec 22 at 7:30pm at Wolfville Baptist Church. A Concert with Marcel D’Entremont. Free-will offering (suggested donation of 20-25$). Proceeds to support our Choral Scholars.

December 23 — 4th Sunday of Advent. Worship at 11 a.m.

December 23 — 7pm. Sample sublime Seasonal Songs & Stories staged by Sensational Singers & Storytellers! Singing for our Supper is an annual fundraiser for the Wolfville Community Christmas Supper. Entrance fee is by donation. Items for the Wolfville Food Bank are also accepted.

Christmas Eve Services December 24:
     4:00 p.m. Multi-generational Christmas Service
     7:30 p.m. Traditional Candlelight Service

December 30th — HERE’S TO SONGI 30th Anniversary AVHC Reunion Concert. Sunday, December 30th at 3:00pm. Catch up with past singers, families, and artistic staffl Free Will Offering.


 

St. John’s Anglican Church, 164 Main Street, Wolfville

Sunday, December 23rd, 10 am: Morning Prayer with Christmas Pageant
The story of Christmas is told by our children through drama 
 
Monday, December 24th, 6 pm: Carols Around the Creche
A family service with the lighting of candles and the reading of the Christmas story interspersed with carols as the children place figures in the creche.
 
Monday, December 24th, 9 pm: Carols and Communion
A traditional service of holy communion with prayer, lots of carols (led by the choir) and the lighting of candles.
 
Tuesday, December 25th, 10 am: A Quiet Christmas
A traditional service of holy communion with a few Christmas carols.
 
Sunday, December 30th, 8 am: Holy Communion
A traditional service of holy communion with no music.
 
Sunday, December 30th. 10 am: Celtic Eucharist
A Celtic service of holy communion with readings, carols and some music from the Iona community to welcome the new calendar year.
